Launch of Inalco’s ‘Digital Teaching’ workshops
Following a survey of its academic staff and other staff, INALCO is launching its ‘Digital Teaching’ workshops. Whether they are training sessions or opportunities for discussion, discover this year’s programme below!
Details of each workshop will be announced no later than one month before it takes place. Registration will open two weeks before the workshop date. Programme of workshops for 2026:

Workshop 1: ‘Language MOOCs’, Friday 10 April 2026, 10.00–12.00. Two lecturers and researchers from INALCO will discuss their experience of creating language MOOCs:

- Luc Deheuvels, “ MOOC – Contact Kit in Oriental Languages: Arabic ”
Workshop 2 “The Use of Artificial Intelligence in Education”, 12 May, from 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm. The speaker is Amandine ADWAN, senior lecturer in Classical Arabic.
Please note that it is possible to attend the workshop either in person or remotely (via videoconference). The number of in-person places is limited. Once this quota is reached, some participants registered for in-person attendance may be asked to attend remotely.
Workshop 3 ‘Creating digital teaching materials, Part 1: an introduction to MOODLE’, on Thursday 18 June from 10.00 am to 11.30 am.

Prerequisites: none required
Skills covered:
By the end of this training session, you will be able to use Moodle’s essential features;
- create and organise an online course effectively;
- select and upload digital resources (web standards, copyright, GDPR);
- add activities (communicate, assess, collaborate).
During the training, you will work directly with the interface to become more independent.
Workshop 4 ‘Creating a MOOC on civilisation, a distance-learning course on civilisation’ – Monday 21 September, from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm.

Workshop 5 “Creating digital teaching materials 2: ‘Test’ activity on Moodle, Thursday 29 September, from 10.00 am to 11.30 am
Speaker: Sophie Briquet
Level: beginner
Prerequisites: familiarity with the basic functions of Moodle (structuring a course, uploading a file).
Workshop programme:
1- Refresher: adding and organising learning content on Moodle.
2- Creating and configuring the ‘Test’ activity.
3- Creating questions and managing the question bank.
4- Configuring the mark book, viewing and exporting results.
During the training, you will work directly with the interface to become more independent.
Workshop 6 – Creating digital teaching materials 3: creating audiovisual resources – Thursday 15 October, from 2.30 pm to 4.00 pm

Workshop programme:
1- Capturing good audio and video: the basics of framing, lighting and sound recording to produce high-quality recordings.
2- Creating an effective educational video: format, duration and best practice.
3- Software overview:
- Reaper: the main features for easily creating a simple audio edit
- PowerPoint 2024 / Microsoft 365: embedding audio or video and recording directly onto your slides
- OBS: creating a simple or complex scene, combining different sources and recording
- Tools from La Digitale: discover a selection of handy tools for editing videos
