Inalco suspends its X social network activity to join Bluesky

This decision was taken after careful consideration and in line with other higher education and research establishments and French and European media.
It follows the editorial evolution of X, which no longer guarantees the conditions necessary for a reliable and controlled dissemination of knowledge, scientific knowledge and therefore the values of respect, tolerance and democratic dialogue of our institute, which is committed to preserving the critical spirit.
Lack of moderation and a questionable conception of freedom of expression have made X incompatible with any scientific and democratic approach.

Inalco has decided to join Bluesky, an alternative more in line with our values and ideals of scientific and informational rigor and ensuring greater respect for data and user rights.
Today it offers a suitable alternative and enjoys a growing presence among the academic, scientific and media community.
Offering a a priori more healthy, respectful and democratic environment, the institute now chooses this space to strengthen its communication, maintain the dissemination of social sciences and reinforce its links with its audiences.

Through this choice, we hope to contribute alongside players in higher education and research to shaping an ethical and responsible digital space.
