The Deputy Secretary General of the MEAE speaks at an International Relations course

On Thursday October 16, students in the International Relations program were treated to a talk by David Bertolotti, Deputy Secretary General of the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, on the theme of "La pratique diplomatique au défi de la politique étrangère" ("Diplomatic practice and the challenge of foreign policy").

This special session of the Master 1 International Relations course "French Foreign Policy and Diplomatic Practices" was open to Master 2 students and students on the Bachelor's International Relations course for the occasion.

After words of welcome and thanks from Jean-François Huchet, President of Inalco, Mr. Bertolotti, who in the past taught the "International Negotiations" course within the Master Relations internationales, reminded us at the outset of his speech that "Inalco is one of the oldest partners of the MEAE, which has trained generations of diplomats, particularly those on the 'Orient' track. It brings incomparable linguistic knowledge and civilizational expertise to our diplomacy."

The presentation was followed by a time of exchange during which the students were able to discuss subjects such as France's action in favor of women in Afghanistan or the use of artificial intelligence within the Ministry.
