Diploma exemption (Vap 85)

The objectives

The VAP (Validation des Acquis Professionnels) scheme was set up to facilitate access to resuming studies for people who don't have the required diploma.
But it was also created to enable people who have the required level to resume studies by reducing the time and effort required.
In fact, the validation of prior learning allows exemption from passing certain modules following the decision of a validation commission.

The principle

The principle of the scheme is to recognize prior learning in order to gain access to training. The aim is to take into account the person's knowledge and know-how, to facilitate access to further study and to national diplomas and titles. This saves time and personal and financial investment.

Access conditions

- personal and/or professional experience directly related to the diploma in question
- for candidates with higher education, an interruption of studies for at least 3 years
- for those without the baccalauréat, an interruption of studies for at least 2 years and an age requirement (at least 20 years old on the date of resumption of studies)
(Education Code D613-40)
