The national campaign for doctoral contracts to benefit students with disabilities remains a major focus of the policy pursued by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation and higher education institutions.
The "PhD Disability 2022" campaign offers funding to students with a thesis project who are recognized as being eligible for the French "obligation d'emploi". Students whose applications have been selected will benefit from a three-year (36-month) contract, subject to the condition of re-registration in doctoral training each year;
Students holding a Master's degree or equivalent (with a minimum of honors and a mark equal to or higher than 14/20 in the Master's thesis) are eligible to apply for enrollment in a doctoral program;
Filing and composition of the application file:
- "Doctoral Disability Contract form"
- A curriculum vitae enabling us to assess the quality of your training in relation to your thesis project
- A copy of diploma (master or equivalent Mention Bien or très bien) allowing registration in doctoral school,
- Copy of corresponding transcripts
- Attach a copy of the notification of decision or a copy of the letter acknowledging receipt of the application file from the MDPH or other supporting document
- Thesis project (3 pages maximum) in PDF format with provisional three-year timetable - relevance and feasibility - motivational statement

Doctoral contract
The doctoral contract is open to all doctoral students (regardless of age) wishing to enroll in the first year of their thesis. A 3-year public-sector contract, which may be renewed for a further year, it is the main form of support available to doctoral students. Created by decree on April 23, 2009, the doctoral contract provides all the social guarantees of a public law employment contract.

The activities entrusted to a contract doctoral student may be exclusively devoted to research, but may also include other missions: teaching, promoting research results, disseminating scientific and technical information, and providing expert advice.

Recruitment for the 2023-2024 academic year
The recruitment of contract doctoral students falls within the general framework set by the Decree of May 25, 2016 relating to the doctorate. Candidates must meet the eligibility requirements in terms of academic qualifications on the date of the auditions. Candidates prepare an application file, which must be sent to the Doctoral School according to the calendar in force for the academic year.
Doctoral contracts are awarded on the basis of the quality of the thesis project and the academic curriculum.
Application for a doctoral contract is made in three phases:
1. Digital submission of files on a dedicated form to the doctoral secretariat.
2. Eligibility phase
- The host research unit decides on the eligibility of candidates (favorable - unfavorable to the candidate's audition).
- Double evaluation of application files by two members of the Doctoral School Council.
- On the basis of the application file and the two assessments, the Doctoral School Council decides on the candidate's eligibility for the audition.
3. Admission phase
- Audition of successful candidates. Presentation by the candidate of his/her research project (10 minutes), followed by an interview with members of the Doctoral School Council (10 minutes). The audition takes place in person at the Maison de la Recherche, 2 rue de Lille 75007 Paris
- Deliberation of the Doctoral School Council.

The Doctoral School Council bases its decision on 7 pre-established criteria.
The criteria used by jury members to assess the research project relate to:
- The quality and originality of the project
- The project's relevance to the candidate's career path and doctoral supervision (thesis director and research unit)
- The written presentation
- Conceptual and methodological rigor
- The use of primary and secondary sources in the "oriental" language(s) concerned by the research project
- The feasibility within the 3-year reference period
- The oral presentation and the quality of exchanges during the audition

The Doctoral School Council deliberates on a main list and a complementary list of candidates selected for a doctoral contract.
The proposal to award a doctoral contract is equivalent to authorization to enroll in a doctoral program. The awarding of a contract is subject to effective doctoral registration at Inalco

CIFRE contracts (conventions industrielles de formation par la recherche) enable the recruitment of a PhD student by a private company.

This scheme is managed by the ANRT (Association Nationale de la Recherche et de la Technologie) and funded by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research.
The thesis is carried out by conducting research in the company and in the host research unit of the doctoral school to which it is attached.

DOCTORAL SCHOOL APPLICATION DEADLINE: November 24, 2023, for departure on assignment between 1er January and June 3 2024 .

These grants are awarded by the Doctoral School Council. They are subject to the favorable opinion of the thesis director (attach a letter of recommendation from the director). They are not grants but one-off assistance for short stays in the student's field of investigation, participation in colloquia, document research abroad or training courses with foreign specialists, granted according to the Doctoral School's own financial resources.
Receivability
The call for proposals concerns D1, D2, D3 as a priority (possibly D4 on detailed request).
Missions for doctoral students in their 5th year of enrolment and above are granted only if they are intended to enhance the thesis work (symposia, various presentations, etc.).

Requests of 100 euros or less will not be considered.
Candidates may submit only one application per campaign.
2 campaigns are held per year:
- in November 2023 for a stay made between January and June 2024
- in April 2024 for a stay made between July and December 2024

Mr. Jean WALTER, architect, created the Bourses ZELLIDJA in 1939. This scholarship is intended to help young French-speaking researchers who have completed their second university cycle and are doctoral or post-doctoral students, to carry out a specialization or research project in the countries of their choice, with no obligation to be affiliated to a university.
The ZELLIDJA Scholarships are intended for young French-speaking researchers who have completed their second university cycle and are doctoral or post-doctoral students.

The Flora Blanchon Foundation awards an annual prize intended to help with the publication of a thesis on the Far East (particularly China and neighboring countries).

The amount of the prize is set at 2000€. Its payment will be made to the publisher of the prize-winning work, according to conditions set by agreement, and subject to its publication within a maximum of three years after it is awarded.Flora Blanchon Prize winners are invited to report annually on the progress of the publication of their thesis.
